After my last job interview, I decided to dive into JavaScript theory. One of the most common topics is the event loop. In the previous post, I briefly described how the event loop works in browsers. But what about Node.js? It has its own event loop to handle multiple requests on a single thread. I ran into some confusion and want to share how I resolved it.

Micro posts for WordPress

I added micro posts to my site. Sometimes I want to make a brief announcement, e.g. a new patch for TrackLab, but I don’t want to mix announcements with regular posts. Also I don’t need to do SEO for them. Micro posts have a little text and a thumbnail only. No categories, no tags, no comments, no SEO.

You can add them to your site on WordPress as well and you don’t need a third-party plugin for that. Here is a guide on how to create a WordPress plugin for micro posts.

Creating a custom input with Angular

Version 0.4.0 of TrackLab is still in development, and I want to share what I’ve been working on over the last few days. The most time-consuming part was creating a custom input elements.

I use Angular (v20) + Ionic (v8.7) for my project, but the example below should also work with pure Angular if you replace Ionic-specific elements (like <ion-input>) with standard HTML ones (like <input>).
