Find out what actually works for you.
Log what you do, run experiments on yourself, and see in numbers whether a change made any difference. Works completely offline — no account, no sign-up, nothing leaves your phone.
Android 8+. Not on Google Play (see install notes below). A version you can run in the browser is coming.
How it works
- Log activities. What you did, optionally with time, tags, items and your own metrics — mood, energy, weight, pages read, anything you define.
- Set rules. “Reading at least 15 minutes a day.” “No coffee.” “Pull-ups at least 3 times a week.” TrackLab tracks each rule’s uptime and your current streak.
- Run an experiment. Pick a period, decide what you’re changing and what you’ll measure, then read the before-and-after when it ends.
The loop is measure → learn → decide. Not “log your time” for its own sake.
Experiments — the part that makes it a lab
Most trackers can tell you what you did. TrackLab is built to answer whether it helped.
An experiment ties three things together: the behaviour you’re changing, the rules that keep you honest about it, and the metric you’re watching. At the end you get a before/after on that metric instead of a feeling.
Your data stays on your device
- No account, no sign-up, no server, no ads, no trackers, no analytics.
- Everything lives in a local database on your phone.
- Password-protected backups and automatic backups, restore whenever you want.
This isn’t a privacy setting you switch on. The app has nowhere to send anything.
It also means I can’t see who uses TrackLab or how — which is why the request at the bottom of this page is genuine.

Install on Android
- Download the APK above.
- Open it. Android will ask whether to allow installing from an unknown source — allow it. You’ll see that warning for any app that isn’t from the Play Store.
- Open the app. There’s nothing to set up and no account to make; a short guide is offered on first launch, and it lives in Settings → Help → User Guide.
I’d like to hear from you
I’ve built TrackLab alone for eleven months, and because it collects nothing, I have no idea who’s using it or whether they got anywhere with it.
So anything you send is useful: a bug, a feature you expected and couldn’t find, what you tracked, or “I installed it, opened it twice and gave up” — that last one most of all.
